We’re not an organisation that’s prone to boasting...

but we are really proud of our achievements and the accolades we receive from other organisations. Here is a selection of our most recent awards.

 

 Already in 2011 Wates has been named Contractor of the Year, Employer of the Year and received the Judges Supreme Award, whlie Chief  Executive Paul Drechsler was recognised as one of the first three inaugural Construction Leaders at the Construction News Awards.


 

 Wates has also received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development, the BiTC Company of the Year Award, Project of the Year for Chelsea Academy at the Building Awards and we achieved  Platinum status in the BiTC Corporate Responsibility Index

Social Housing Contractor of the Year

Social Housing Contractor of the year 2010Wates Living Space was honoured to win "Contractor of the Year" in the only awards that pay tribute to the work of social housing contractors, the 2011 Housing Excellence Awards. 

 

Major Contractor of the Year

 We were delighted to win Major Contractor of the Year for the second year running at Building Magazine's 2010 Awards. In 2009 our Chairman and Chief Executive, Paul Drechsler, was also honoured as he was named Chief Executive of the Year.

Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to Work For

 In 2010 we were listed as one of the Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to Work For and were proud to be given a special award 'Giving Something Back' for our community work.

 

BiTC Big Tick Award for Employability

Big Tick award Employability 2010  In 2010 we were awarded a Big Tick Award for our Building Futures Initiative, which helps those facing barriers to employment.

 

Sunday Times Green List

The Sunday Times Best Green Companies 2009The Sunday Time revealed the 60 Best Green Companies in Britain and we were really pleased to be ranked 26th in this definitive guide to businesses with the most radically improved environmental performances.

 Safety is a top priority within Wates Group, and our excellent safety record has resulted in RoSPA Gold Awards for Occupational Safety and the British Safety Council Awards for the past five years.

Investor in People

Building Sustainable Contractor of the Year

Considerate Constructors logoWe became an associate member of the Considerate Contractor scheme in 2008. Many of our sites are independently audited to ensure they meet stringent guidelines.
