Wates Group are looking for an Assistant Project Engineer to join our Construction Team in the West focussing on high profile, technically complex projects across multiple sectors.

The role:
Our Assistant Project Engineers are a valuable part of our business responsible for the establishment and maintenance of dimensional control and assisting the project team in record keeping, health & safety, environmental and quality management. Can interact with a variety of trades and functions and learn the technical complexities of each.
What you'll be doing:
- Keep and maintain records on all engineering aspects of the project inclusive of Daily Diary, Inspection Records, As Built Drawings, etc.
- Implement QA, inspections & test plans for areas of work identified by Engineer and record on relevant Field tool. Cross check design, specification and details relevant to area of work
- Report defective works and issue notices inclusive of the monitoring of remedial actions as advised by Engineer using Field tool and track/close out.
- Assist Engineer to provide and maintain dimensional control for the project from primary survey stations. This includes grid lines, offsets and datum's, temporary setting out stations for controlling the setting out of works inclusive of recording such data.
- Asist project team in delivery of Health, Safety and environmental, report and take action to correct any observed risks to health, safety and environment whilst on site.
- Continuously develop engineering knowledge by undertaking self-development
Given the nature of this position, you will be required to undergo a Basic/Standard/Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at offer stage
