Wates Group are looking for a Senior Building Services Manager to join our Residential team in Basingstoke.The Residential business is a developer contractor; we invest, develop, build and sell quality affordable housing, either contracting or in a form of partnership with Local Authorities, Registered Providers and public bodies.The Senior Building Services Manager will provide technical support to the Development and Operations teams in delivering first class sustainable projects, help to develop strong relationships with customers, be a positive representative of the Residential team in all communication with our clients and key stakeholders.This is a great opportunity to progress your career as part of a talented, diverse, and supportive team.ABOUT THE ROLEOur Building Services Managers are a valuable part of our business, driving quality outcomes.As our Senior Building Services Manager, you will: Review tender information for technical compliance, completeness and coordination and report findings to the team. Assist the commercial team by leading on MEPH related packages, reviewing and comparing tender returns Assist in the selection of MEPH consultants and sub-contractors and the negotiation and appointment of competent contractors and designers. Prepare the scopes of service and associated documents for the appointment of MEPH consultants and supply chain Support the design management teams and our clients in undertaking high quality reviews at each stage of the design development process to ensure deliverables are fully co-ordinated and buildable. Monitor and report on site progress to ensure alliance with the Construction Programme. Chairing and minuting M&E Progress Meetings. Liaison with Residential site team. Commercial Manager

We have an opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join our Wates team within our Responsive Maintenance division covering various contracts. The successful candidate will provide strong functional leadership, management, governance and excellence for all commercial activities pre and post contract across a portfolio of programmes. The role specifically covers both work winning and the operational delivery of projects.Key Accountabilities will include: Budget responsibility, commercial management and client commercial liaison for applicable contract(s) Manage and oversee Assistant / Quantity Surveyors in all line-manager duties. Manage Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) process for your contract(s) to be review and signed off by RCM in accordance with CVR timetable. Lead commercially in the monthly Contract Review Meetings (CRM’s) with Operations Manager. Assist Senior Management in tender adjudication. Liaise with buying department to ensure that relevant material prices are procured.We are looking for a proactive and experienced Commercial Manager who has worked in a similar maintenance industry.To be successful in this role you will have the ability to lead and develop a highly talented and motivated commercial team as well as build excellent relationships with other business functions, customers, consultants and the supply chain.

Project Manager

Wates have an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Wates team within our Planned Works division. You will be working out of the Kilburn area on one of our contracts. The primary focus of this role will be to provide visible leadership and direction along with foresight and insight in the safe and profitable delivery of schemes to Wates. Key Accountabilities will include: Develop and implement detailed programmes and schedules which allow accurate monitoring and reporting of progress. Identify the quality expectations and embrace these in the Quality Plan. Implement all statutory regulatory and company requirements for managing Health and Safety. Secure and manage the appropriate resources to deliver the project / scheme effectively and efficiently in a professional manner to ensure successful delivery within project constraints. Ensure there is a successful and smooth handover of the project, including support to customer/ end user throughout the handover process. Establish a communications plan and agree accountabilities for team members. Ideally you will have experience of working for a main contractor on similar projects and have experience of elevational treatment, EWI decorative panelling & replacement windows.
