Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Sandwell Project

Location: Sandwell, West Midlands

We're looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Construction team on a key project based in Sandwell. This is a great opportunity to develop your commercial career within a supportive, experienced team, contributing to the successful delivery of a high-profile scheme in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the commercial team in managing project costs from procurement through to final account
• Assist with subcontractor procurement, including tender analysis and recommendations
• Help manage valuations, variations and payments in line with contractual requirements
• Maintain cost reporting and forecasting, ensuring accuracy and transparency
• Support risk and value management processes on the project
• Build strong working relationships with site teams, supply chain partners and stakeholders

About You

• Experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role within construction (placement year or post-graduate experience considered)
• Degree (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Basic understanding of standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT/NEC)
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Confident communicator with a proactive, collaborative approach
• Eager to learn and progress within a structured development environment
