Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Leamington Spa
About the Role
We are looking for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team, supporting the delivery of a diverse portfolio of planned works projects across social housing and refurbishment. The programmes include retrofit, kitchens and bathrooms, windows and doors, offering excellent exposure to a range of projects and commercial activities.
Working alongside an experienced team consisting of a Project Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor and Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial management of contracts while developing your own surveying career.
This opportunity would suit an established Assistant Quantity Surveyor or a Trainee Quantity Surveyor ready to step into their first AQS position.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the evaluation of subcontractor applications, valuations and variations.
- Support the preparation and management of CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations).
- Process subcontractor payments and maintain commercial records.
- Help monitor project costs and commercial performance across multiple workstreams.
- Produce and maintain accurate project documentation using SharePoint and internal systems.
- Support monthly reporting and commercial forecasting activities.
- Attend site visits when required to support project delivery teams.
About You
- Experience within a Quantity Surveying or Assistant Quantity Surveying role.
- Exposure to subcontractor management, valuations, variations or cost reporting.
- Strong Excel and IT skills, with the ability to work confidently across multiple systems.
- Commercially aware with a keen eye for detail.
- Confident communicator who is comfortable challenging where necessary.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn and desire to develop a long-term career in Quantity Surveying.
- Experience within planned works, refurbishment, retrofit or social housing projects would be advantageous.
