🔹 Ready to build your QS career in social housing?
We're looking for a proactive Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of responsive repair and maintenance contracts. You'll work closely with experienced surveyors to help deliver cost‑effective, compliant, and high‑quality services for social housing clients.

 

🛠️ The Role

You'll assist with the accurate measurement, pricing, and valuation of works using NHF Schedule of Rates, while supporting the wider commercial team to ensure contracts are well managed and financially controlled.

 

✅ Key Responsibilities

📐 NHF SOR Application

  • Measure completed repairs and maintenance works
  • Apply correct NHF SOR codes to maximise revenue and ensure contract compliance

💷 Valuations & Variations

  • Support interim and final monthly valuations
  • Process variations and additional works in line with contract approval procedures

🔧 Subcontractor Management

  • Review subcontractor payment applications
  • Validate progress against SOR rates and site activity

📊 Performance Monitoring

  • Track productivity, labour costs, and material usage
  • Help ensure jobs are well-resourced and profitable

📈 Reporting & Commercial Support

  • Assist with CVRs, forecasting, and commercial analysis
  • Support the senior commercial team with accurate reporting

 

🎯 What We're Looking For

👷 Experience

  • Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role
  • Social housing or maintenance background preferred

📚 SOR Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of NHF SOR (v7, v8, or similar)

💻 Technical Skills

  • Confident Microsoft Excel user

🌟 Personal Attributes

  • High attention to detail
  • Proactive and eager to learn
  • Excellent communication skills
