🔹 Looking to grow your QS career in social housing?
We're recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of responsive repairs and maintenance contracts across Central Bedfordshire. This is a great opportunity to work alongside an experienced surveyor team and play a key role in delivering compliant, cost‑effective services.
🛠️ The Role
You'll assist with the measurement, pricing, and valuation of works using NHF Schedule of Rates, ensuring client contract compliance and strong commercial performance across social housing maintenance contracts.
✅ Key Responsibilities
📐 NHF SOR Application
- Accurately measure completed repairs and maintenance works
- Apply the correct NHF SOR codes to maximise revenue and ensure compliance
💷 Valuations & Variations
- Support interim and final monthly valuations for client approval
- Process variations and additional works in line with contract requirements
🔧 Subcontractor Management
- Assist with managing subcontractors
- Review payment applications against site progress and NHF SOR rates
📊 Performance Monitoring
- Track productivity, labour costs, and material usage
- Help ensure jobs are profitable and appropriately resourced
📈 Reporting & Commercial Support
- Support CVR reports, forecasting, and commercial analysis
- Assist the senior commercial team with accurate financial reporting
🎯 What We're Looking For
👷 Experience
- Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role
- Social housing or maintenance experience preferred
📚 SOR Knowledge
- Strong working knowledge of NHF SOR (v7, v8, or similar)
💻 Technical Skills
- Confident user of Microsoft Excel
