Wates Property Services (WPS) is looking for an organised and proactive CAD & Change Coordinator to join our Facilities Management team at the prestigious Wellcome Genome Campus.

This is an exciting opportunity for a CAD professional with strong document control and asset management experience to play a key role in maintaining the integrity of engineering, facilities, and asset information across a unique scientific and research environment.

Working closely with the Permit Office Manager, Asset Management, Projects, and Facilities teams, you'll be responsible for coordinating engineering change control processes, managing as-built documentation, maintaining CAD information and ensuring that critical asset data remains accurate, compliant, and up to date.

What You'll Be Doing

As our CAD & Change Coordinator, you will:

  • Manage and coordinate the Engineering Change Control (ECC) process across the campus.
  • Review and validate project documentation, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and update CAD drawings, site plans, floor plans, and engineering documentation.
  • Ensure as-built information is collected, reviewed, and incorporated into campus information systems following project completion.
  • Support the management of CAFM and asset management systems, ensuring engineering data is accurate and reliable.
  • Monitor and audit contractor document submissions and performance to ensure information is delivered to the required standard.
  • Maintain drawing standards and document control procedures across the estate.
  • Support ISO55001 asset management compliance and audit readiness.
  • Work collaboratively with contractors, consultants, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure engineering information is effectively controlled and communicated.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements to change control and document management processes.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who combines technical CAD expertise with excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.

Essential Experience & Knowledge

  • Minimum two years' experience in a similar CAD, document control, asset management, engineering, facilities, construction, or M&E environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering change control or asset management processes.
  • Experience reading, reviewing, and managing CAD drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience using cloud-based information management systems.
  • Understanding of BIM principles and their application within construction and facilities environments.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects and managing large volumes of technical information.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Demonstrable CAD experience, including the ability to view, edit, print and produce drawings and sketches.
  • Autodesk AutoCAD experience or formal CAD qualification desirable.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, particularly CDM regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and document management skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to challenge and improve existing processes.
