Wates Property Services (WPS) are looking for a skilled Carpenter to join our Responsive Maintenance team, supporting a social housing contract across the Redditch area.

This is a hands‑on role where you'll be carrying out day‑to‑day carpentry repairs and maintenance works within occupied homes, delivering a high standard of workmanship and excellent customer service to residents.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out responsive carpentry repairs and maintenance works within social housing properties
  • Typical works to include doors, frames, skirting, architraves, kitchens, windows and general repairs
  • Achieve first‑time fix wherever possible
  • Accurately complete job sheets, timesheets and material records
  • Identify when additional trades are required and liaise with your Supervisor
  • Work in line with health & safety and safeguarding standards at all times
  • Provide a professional, resident‑focused service on every visit

 

About You

NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry (or equivalent)essential
Full UK driving licenceessential
✅ Experience working within social housing responsive maintenance
✅ Able to work independently and manage a varied workload
✅ Strong communication skills with a customer‑focused approach
✅ Committed to quality, safety and professionalism
