We're excited to be recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join our Planned Works team in the West Midlands, supporting the delivery of a high-profile, newly secured social housing contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to play a key leadership role on a major programme, driving commercial performance while supporting operational delivery and developing high-performing teams.
The Role
As a Commercial Manager, you'll provide strong commercial leadership across the contract, ensuring robust governance, margin protection, and effective delivery from pre-contract through to final account.
You'll be responsible for managing a team and working closely with operational stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all commercial aspects of a large-scale planned works contract
- Develop and implement commercial strategy across multiple workstreams
- Provide leadership, support, and development to the commercial team
- Oversee cost control, forecasting, CVRs, and financial reporting
- Ensure robust subcontractor management and procurement practices
- Drive value, manage risk, and maximise contract performance
- Collaborate with operational teams, clients, and stakeholders to support successful delivery
- Maintain strong commercial governance and compliance across the lifecycle of the project
About You
We're looking for a confident, commercially astute leader with experience in social housing planned works.
Essential requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager within social housing planned works
- Track record of delivering high-profile or large-scale contracts
- Strong experience managing and developing teams
- Excellent understanding of commercial processes including cost control, procurement and risk management
- Ability to influence stakeholders and work collaboratively across functions
- Full UK driving licence
- Ideally based in or able to travel across the West Midlands
