Ready to deliver high-quality homes and make a real difference?
If you're a Construction Manager who takes pride in creating safe, high-quality homes and a positive experience for the people who will live in them, this could be the role for you.
At Wates Group, you'll be responsible for the delivery of residential schemes from first bid through to final handover. You'll work alongside talented teams and trusted partners, in a business that values collaboration, supports your development and invests in its people.
What you'll do
- Bring people together: Create clear priorities and a supportive, inclusive team environment where people feel able to contribute and succeed.
- Bring the whole project together: Coordinate the programme, logistics and sequencing, working collaboratively to keep delivery on track and find solutions when challenges arise.
- Support commercial success: Partner with the commercial team on profit plans, cash flow, risks and opportunities, helping the project achieve its goals.
- Shape projects early: Share your site expertise during bids, buildability reviews and customer presentations, helping teams make informed decisions from the outset.
- Build strong partnerships: Work closely with supply-chain partners, setting clear expectations and developing positive, trusted relationships.
- Build trusted relationships: Be a key point of contact for customers, consultants, residents and local stakeholders, creating open and collaborative relationships throughout the project.
- Create a positive safety and quality culture: Encourage everyone to play their part in zero harm, speak up about unsafe behaviours and work together to achieve right-first-time quality.
- Support people to grow: Coach and develop Project Managers, Site Managers, Section Managers and early-career colleagues, helping people build their confidence, capability and careers.
What you'll bring
- Experience of successfully delivering residential projects while working with multidisciplinary site teams.
- Good commercial awareness across budgets, forecasting, cost control and risk.
- Good knowledge of construction methodology, buildability, design coordination, programme management and Building Regulations.
- Strong communication skills and an inclusive, collaborative approach to working with others.
- Confidence using digital construction and reporting tools.
- CSCS card and SMSTS, or equivalent.
- A relevant construction qualification or equivalent experience.
