We are looking for a Design Manager to join our team, supporting the delivery of a major construction project in Bedfordshire. This is a key role within the project team, responsible for managing and coordinating the design process to ensure successful and efficient project delivery.
You will work closely with internal teams, consultants and the supply chain to ensure designs are well‑coordinated, compliant and aligned with programme, cost and quality objectives.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing the design process from pre‑construction through to project delivery
- Coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants
- Ensuring designs meet statutory, contractual and project requirements
- Managing design risk, interfaces and change control
- Supporting the development of buildable, efficient and value‑driven design solutions
- Working closely with commercial, planning and site teams to ensure alignment
- Supporting bid and pre‑construction activities where required
- Building strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Design Manager within construction or the built environment
- Strong understanding of the design process across multiple disciplines
- Experience working on large or complex construction projects
- Good coordination, communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, organised and solutions‑focused approach
- Ability to manage design programmes and multiple interfaces effectively
