Digital Standards Manager

Location: Birmingham / West Midlands (with travel to projects and WPS offices as required)
Business Unit: Wates Property Services (WPS)
Reporting to: Digital Operations & Compliance Lead

Be part of shaping digital excellence across WPS

At Wates Property Services, we're transforming the way digital information is managed across our projects. As we continue to grow and deliver vital services within the social housing and built environment sectors, we're looking for a Digital Standards Manager to lead digital compliance, information assurance, and Common Data Environment (CDE) excellence across a portfolio of projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in digital construction, information management, BIM, document control, or design management who is passionate about driving quality, governance and continuous improvement.

The Role

As Digital Standards Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring digital standards, controls and information management processes are consistently implemented across assigned projects. You'll lead project digital mobilisation, oversee CDE performance, drive compliance, and provide assurance that project teams and supply chain partners are operating in line with agreed standards and ISO 19650 principles.

Working closely with operational teams, Information Controllers, consultants and subcontractors, you'll play a key role in delivering robust digital governance and supporting successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Mobilisation & Readiness

  • Lead the digital mobilisation process for new projects.
  • Configure and validate CDE structures, permissions, workflows and templates.
  • Ensure project teams and supply chain partners are appropriately onboarded and trained.
  • Sign off digital readiness before project go-live and escalate any mobilisation risks.

Information Management & Compliance

  • Manage and monitor the performance of Asset360 and project CDE environments.
  • Ensure digital workflows, metadata standards and naming conventions are consistently applied.
  • Drive corrective actions where compliance standards are not met.
  • Monitor project information quality, completeness and traceability.

Assurance & Reporting

  • Conduct digital audits, quality checks and compliance reviews.
  • Produce KPI reports covering audit performance, naming compliance, metadata quality and training completion.
  • Maintain audit evidence and track corrective actions through to completion.
  • Support regulatory reviews and gateway assurance requirements.

Supply Chain & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with designers, consultants and subcontractors to implement project digital requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to improve digital adoption and compliance.
  • Challenge non-compliance and escalate issues through established governance routes.

Training & Continuous Improvement

  • Deliver Asset360 and CDE training across project teams.
  • Promote best practice and continuous improvement in digital delivery.
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to the enhancement of digital systems, controls and processes.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Experience within construction, digital delivery, design management, information management or document control environments.
  • Hands-on experience of administering or operating a Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Working knowledge of ISO 19650 principles and information management processes.
  • Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence, challenge and support project teams in a live operational environment.
  • Experience monitoring compliance, reporting KPIs and driving corrective actions.

Desirable

  • Experience working on social housing, regulated or Higher-Risk Building projects.
  • Understanding of Building Safety Act requirements and Golden Thread principles.
  • Formal qualification in construction, engineering, BIM, information management or a related discipline.
  • ISO 19650, BIM Coordination, CDE Administration or similar recognised certification.
  • Experience delivering training and coaching multidisciplinary teams.

What You'll Bring

  • A practical, delivery-focused approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and accountability.
  • Confidence working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively manage competing priorities.
  • A passion for driving quality, compliance and continuous improvement.
