Overview

WPS are seeking an experienced Document Controller to join our Planned Maintenance team in Birmingham. You'll support the delivery of social housing refurbishment and decarbonisation programmes, ensuring all project documentation is managed, controlled and maintained accurately across a range of workstreams including kitchens and bathrooms, heat pumps, insulation upgrades, windows and doors and external improvement works.

Key Duties

As Document Controller, you'll be responsible for managing project documentation, maintaining accurate records and ensuring information is distributed efficiently across project teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and maintaining project document control systems.
  • Uploading, filing and distributing project documentation in line with company procedures.
  • Maintaining document registers, trackers and revision histories.
  • Supporting project teams with compliance records, certifications and handover documentation.
  • Monitoring document workflows and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Liaising with operational teams, subcontractors and clients regarding documentation requirements.
  • Producing reports and providing updates on document status and outstanding actions.
  • Supporting audits and ensuring all records are maintained accurately and securely.
  • Promoting a positive culture focused on accuracy, compliance and continuous improvement.

Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Document Controller, Administrator or Coordinator within construction, planned maintenance, social housing or refurbishment environments.
  • Experience managing document control systems and maintaining project records.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and document management systems (essential).
  • Full UK Driving Licence (preferred).

Experience supporting planned maintenance, retrofit, decarbonisation, FRA works and refurbishment programmes would be advantageous.
