Shape the future capability of WPS.

We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of Learning & Development to lead the delivery of a modern, data-driven L&D function that supports business performance, leadership capability, workforce skills and future talent pipelines.

Leading a team of L&D professionals and managing an L&D budger, you'll develop and deliver a learning strategy that aligns with our business priorities, ensures compliance, strengthens leadership capability and creates opportunities for employee growth and internal mobility.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the WPS Learning & Development strategy.
  • Lead leadership, capability, workforce development and early careers programmes.
  • Oversee mandatory, statutory and SHEQ training, ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
  • Manage learning technologies, data, analytics and reporting to measure impact and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing L&D team.
  • Manage external learning providers, funding streams and supplier performance.
  • Partner with senior leaders to identify skills gaps and build organisational capability.

About you

You'll be an experienced L&D leader with:

  • A proven track record of leading learning functions at scale.
  • Strong experience in leadership development, workforce capability and talent development.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, suppliers and learning technology platforms.
  • A commercial, data-led approach with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes.
