Information Coordinator

Location: HMP Hindley, Wigan Business Unit: Wates Construction Contract: Permanent

At Wates, we're delivering some of the UK's most significant public sector construction programmes. We're looking for an Information Coordinator to join our team at HMP Hindley, supporting the successful delivery of a major new-build prison development.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong document control, information management or project coordination experience who enjoys working within a fast-paced construction environment and wants to play a key role in keeping project information accurate, compliant and accessible.

The Role

Working closely with project, design and site teams, you'll coordinate project information throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring documentation is managed effectively and in line with project requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing project documentation and information within Common Data Environments (CDEs)
  • Ensuring drawings, specifications and project records are accurately controlled, distributed and archived
  • Supporting compliance with project information management processes and standards
  • Coordinating information flows between project teams, consultants, clients and supply chain partners
  • Maintaining document registers and ensuring records remain current and auditable
  • Producing reports and supporting project governance requirements
  • Assisting project teams with information requests and system queries
  • Supporting digital construction and BIM-related information processes where required

What We're Looking For

We're interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Experience in document control, information management, project coordination or a similar role within construction, engineering or infrastructure
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Experience using document management systems or Common Data Environments
  • Confidence working with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital information management tools
  • Knowledge of BIM processes would be advantageous, but not essential
