Information Manager – Construction West

Location: North West / West Midlands  

 

Wates Construction are seeking an experienced Information Manager to join our Construction West team, supporting the delivery of complex new build, refurbishment and fit‑out projects across a range of sectors including Education, Custodial, Blue Light and Defence. This is a key digital role, working closely with project teams to ensure information is well‑managed, compliant and aligned to project and contractual requirements throughout pre‑construction and delivery.

As Information Manager, you will support the delivery and management of Digital Information and Data, throughout all phases of a project in accordance with Wates' and Industry recognised Information standards such as ISO 19650. This includes Management of Information and Data Quality Checks, CDE implementation & administration, establish and monitor information exchange processes, supporting the maintenance of a "Golden Thread" of information, Coordination of Information Management activities with various functions within Wates.

You will work collaboratively with project teams, design managers, BIM specialists, supply chain partners and clients, ensuring project information is structured, controlled and fit for purpose to support successful delivery and handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Information Quality Assurance - including Information Validation, Receipt, Classification, Distribution, Workflow and Retrieval
  • Data Quality Assurance – including Data Validation, Receipt, Classification, Distribution, and Retrieval
  • Common Data Environment (CDE) Administration, Implementation, and Supervision
  • Support the production and maintenance of Master/Task Information Delivery Plans (MIDP/TIDP) in coordination with Project Teams
  • Establish, Monitor and Supervise Information Exchange Processes including file naming protocols in line with the required Information Standards (such as ISO 19650)
  • Point of contact for ongoing CDE and Information Management project support including third parties such as suppliers, consultants, and clients
  • Produce and communicate Project Information and Data status reports sourced from various repositories such as CDE data, Model Data and Information Requirement Data
  • Support production of BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and associated documents to meet Clients Information Requirements
  • Provide guidance and training on digital tools, processes and best‑practice ways of working
  • Act as a key interface between Digital Construction, project teams and external consultants
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Wates' digital and information management standards

About You

  • Experience working as an Information Manager or similar digital role within a main contractor or consultancy
  • Strong understanding of ISO 19650 and digital information management in construction
  • Confident engaging with multiple stakeholders and translating technical requirements into practical delivery
  • Experience supporting regionally delivered construction projects
