The Opportunity

WPS is looking for a skilled and customer-focused Mobile Fabric Engineer (Fabric & Plumbing Bias) to join our Facilities Management team covering sites across Stoke-on-Trent and the wider Midlands region.

As part of our Mobile Engineering team, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality planned and reactive maintenance services across a varied portfolio of commercial properties. The role is ideal for a multi-skilled engineer with strong fabric maintenance experience and a plumbing background who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and building positive relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across multiple client sites.
  • Deliver a wide range of building fabric maintenance works, including:
    • Carpentry and joinery repairs
    • Minor decorating and making-good works
    • Ceiling, flooring, and partition repairs
    • Door, lock, and ironmongery maintenance
    • General building repairs and upkeep
  • Undertake plumbing works including:
    • Repairing leaks and pipework
    • Maintenance of taps, toilets, and washroom facilities
    • Minor plumbing installations and replacements
    • Diagnosing and resolving water-related faults
  • Conduct site inspections and proactively identify maintenance issues.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health & safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Accurately record works completed using mobile technology and CAFM systems.
  • Liaise professionally with clients and occupants, providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • Support wider engineering activities as required and collaborate with colleagues across the FM team.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a Fabric Engineer, Multi-Trade Engineer, Building Maintenance, or Plumbing Maintenance role.
  • Strong practical skills across general building fabric maintenance.
  • Good plumbing maintenance and fault-finding experience.
  • Experience working within a Facilities Management, commercial property, or maintenance environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads across multiple sites.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Relevant trade qualifications in Plumbing, Building Maintenance, Carpentry, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working within a mobile engineering environment.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical building services.
  • Experience using CAFM systems and mobile-based maintenance technology.
