Project Manager

Overview

WPS are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Planned Maintenance and Renewables team covering Carlisle and the wider Cumbria region, including the Lake District, Whitehaven, Workington and surrounding areas.

This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the successful delivery of a multi-contract social housing programme, managing a combination of planned maintenance and renewable energy works. The scope includes scaffolding, Air Source Heat Pump installations, Solar PV programmes, and window and door replacement projects, delivered across occupied housing stock.

Key Points About the Role

• Managing multiple planned maintenance and renewable energy contracts within social housing.
• Overseeing programmes involving scaffolding, Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar PV, and window and door replacements.
• Leading operational teams and supply chain partners across live environments.
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
• Building strong relationships with clients, residents and key stakeholders.
• Long-term opportunity within a growing Planned Maintenance and Renewables division.

Key Duties

• Managing project delivery across several contracts and workstreams.
• Coordinating subcontractors, site management teams and operational resources.
• Monitoring programme performance and implementing solutions to mitigate risks and delays.
• Managing budgets, forecasts and commercial performance alongside internal teams.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.
• Reviewing project reporting, progress updates and performance metrics.
• Driving continuous improvement and sharing best practice across projects.
• Supporting the successful mobilisation and delivery of future planned maintenance and renewable programmes.

Experience Required

• Proven Project Management experience within social housing planned maintenance and/or renewable energy programmes.
• Experience delivering multi-workstream refurbishment, retrofit or decarbonisation projects.
• Knowledge of Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar PV installations, and external refurbishment works.
• Experience managing scaffolding packages and coordinating specialist subcontractors.
• SMSTS qualification (essential).
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).

Experience with PAS2030/PAS2035 programmes, retrofit delivery, decarbonisation works or other renewable technologies would be advantageous.
