Project Surveyor - Retrofit

About the Role

As Project Surveyor, you will support the commercial delivery of a major social housing retrofit contract, helping to manage costs, maximise profitability, and ensure successful project outcomes.

Working across a newly secured long-term framework, you will be responsible for commercial reporting, CVRs, client engagement, subcontractor management, and financial performance across a portfolio of retrofit works, including:

  • Cavity Wall Insulation (CWI)
  • Window and Door Replacements
  • Solar PV Installations
  • Air Source Heat Pumps
  • Associated Retrofit Works

The contract is split into two regions:

  • East Region: Milton Keynes, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and surrounding areas, with occasional travel further afield where required.
  • West Region: Herefordshire and surrounding areas.

The successful candidate will take ownership of one dedicated region, supporting the delivery of approximately £3m of retrofit works annually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the commercial delivery of retrofit projects across your designated region.
  • Produce and manage CVRs, forecasts, budgets, and cost reporting.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, payments, and final accounts.
  • Attend client meetings and support stakeholder engagement.
  • Work closely with operational teams to maximise contract performance and profitability.
  • Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure contractual compliance and accurate commercial administration throughout project lifecycles.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong commercial background within construction, social housing, planned works, or retrofit projects.

This opportunity would suit either an established Project Surveyor or an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to step into a more senior role within a growing retrofit framework.

The successful candidate will be commercially astute, confident managing CVRs and client relationships, and comfortable supporting projects across a geographically dispersed region.

Essential Experience

  • Previous Quantity Surveying experience within construction, planned maintenance, or property services.
  • Strong understanding of cost reporting, forecasting, and CVR production.
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts and commercial performance.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong financial and contractual awareness.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
