As a Senior Buyer, you'll lead procurement activity across multiple projects and frameworks, partnering with operational teams and our supply chain to unlock value, reduce waste, and deliver great outcomes for our customers.
What you'll be doing
- Lead project and framework procurement strategies in line with our operating framework — from mobilisation through delivery.
- Turn insight into action: analyse procurement and supply chain data, create compelling presentations, and make clear recommendations.
- Negotiate and implement preferred trading agreements with key stakeholders; agree terms/SLAs and track savings or loss per project.
- Support work-winning: collaborate with bidding teams to develop robust, cost‑effective tender solutions.
- Continuously improve supply chain performance: identify, assess and onboard new partners; complete due diligence; drive improvement plans.
- Drive consistency and value: champion design improvement, standardisation and cross‑project purchasing to reduce duplication and waste.
- Be a trusted escalation point for supply chain queries, ensuring issues are resolved and relationships strengthened.
About you
-
- Strong knowledge of construction, with proven experience across the purchase‑to‑pay
- A confident negotiator who communicates and influences effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical, commercially astute and action‑oriented — able to prioritise, solve problems and work independently across multiple contracts.
- Skilled at leading meetings and landing decisions; comfortable presenting strategies and recommendations.
- Qualifications: MCIPS or MCIOB (achieved or studying) desirable.
