Wates Group have a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Mobile Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT team supporting the Wates business units at our London Office in Drummond Street, London.  This will include overseeing the provision of IT services at the London Office and a full range of IT support to offices and sites across the South of England.

Reporting into the Site Systems Manager, you will be required to provide support to the manager of the team, as well as providing remote second line support to business users, where the Service Desk have progressed the respective incident or request as far as possible within 1st line support.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for you to be an experienced IT professional with HNC / HND or greater qualification in a related technical discipline (Computer Studies / Engineering) or equivalent experience and ITIL v3/v4 Foundation certificate. You will have knowledge of Microsoft products, AD and desktop builds and be always keen to learn new technical products.

To be successful in the role you will be a confident communicator at all levels able to explain technical information in a simple way and be able to prioritise your own workload to deliver a good customer service always.

Key Accountabilities of a Senior Mobile Desktop Support Engineer will include:

  • Responsible for accepting incidents and requests from the Service Desk and resolving them, updating the relevant tickets in the Service Management Tool
  • Responsible for allocating of incident and request to engineers when required. Additional Ad Hoc reporting for Desktop Manager as and when required.
  • Coordinate and carryout desktop & mobile device replacements in line with desktop replacement strategy
  • Management of Desktop Support queues to meet agreed SLAs and KPIs
  • Consulting with Asset and Configuration Management for assets and licences to be correctly assigned/disposed of within process. Project work, including providing inputs into Impact Assessments. Patch management for desktops and laptops in the Wates environment    
  • Setting up new users' equipment, including installing required applications above the base build within agreed SLA'
