Wates Construction are looking for a Senior Planner to join our Construction Team where we are focussing on high profile, technically complex projects across multiple sectors.

The role:

Our Senior Planners are a valuable part of our business, the focus of this role is to provide an effective and professional planning and programming services for pre-contract and project teams.

What you'll be doing: 

 

  • Instigate and monitor a balanced suite of performance measurement criteria throughout a project's lifecycle
  • Ensure proper integration of design and procurement elements of programmes with construction
  • Produce integrated tender programme and method statement and present proposals to settlement meeting
  • Change management: review programme effect of changes and advise on EOT issues
  • Engaging with supply chains, consultants, Clients and other stakeholders as part of programme development
  • Produce schedules as well as obtain and analyse quotes for all time-related preliminaries

 

What we require of a Senior Planner:

 

  • Able to work on projects that require a pass security clearances / DBI checks
  • Experience on MoJ and DfE projects as well as competitive tenders, and familiar with the commercial strategies required for each.
  • Experience working on live construction projects and on tenders / preconstruction.
  • Able to work independently within a construction team supporting all aspects relating to programme
  • Able to present confidently to Client and Consultant teams, and to colleagues and Senior Leadership teams.
  • Able to lead or facilitate collaborative planning exercises
  • Proficient with the development of tender, PCSA and construction programmes and able to identify opportunities and risks within each.
  • Proficient with developing logistics plans and schedules for contractor preliminary pricing (scaffold, temporary site services, cranes, hoardings, etc)
