As a Senior Planner at Wates Construction, you'll play a key role in shaping and delivering high‑value construction projects by leading robust, well‑considered programmes from pre‑construction through to completion.

What you'll be doing...

  • Developing, managing and maintaining detailed construction programmes for a range of complex, high‑value projects across the region.
  • Working closely with project teams during pre‑construction to ensure programmes are realistic, fully resourced and risk‑aware.
  • Monitoring progress, challenging assumptions and identifying opportunities to improve sequence and efficiency.
  • Supporting the project team with progress reporting, change management and scenario planning.
  • Engaging collaboratively with clients, consultants and supply chain partners to align on programme strategy.
  • Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, sharing planning best practice across the business.
What you'll bring...
  • Proven experience in a planning role within construction, ideally on large or complex projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of planning tools such as Asta Powerproject or Primavera P6.
  • A collaborative, solutions‑focused approach with the confidence to challenge and influence.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to explain programme strategy to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • A structured, analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • A genuine interest in building lasting, high‑quality projects safely and responsibly.
