At Wates, we're building for the future.

As our project pipeline continues to grow across the North West, we're looking to connect with experienced Senior Project Managers who are passionate about delivering exceptional projects and creating lasting positive impact in the communities we serve.

This is an opportunity to join a business that combines the strength of a leading contractor with the values of a family-owned organisation, where people, relationships and long-term success matter.

Whether you're actively looking for your next challenge or considering what's next in your career, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you'll lead the successful delivery of large-scale construction projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring safety, quality, programme and commercial objectives are achieved.

Working closely with clients, consultants and supply chain partners, you'll provide visible leadership to project teams while fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion and high performance.

You will:

  • Lead the delivery of major construction projects
  • Develop and implement project delivery strategies that drive successful outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams, creating an environment where people can thrive.
  • Drive health, safety and wellbeing standards across your projects.
  • Oversee programme, risk and commercial performance.
  • Champion innovation, sustainability and modern methods of construction.
  • Support the development and progression of future talent across the business.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in people who can demonstrate experience leading significant construction projects and developing high-performing teams.

You'll likely have:

  • Experience delivering complex, high-value construction projects.
  • A strong track record of managing projects through the full lifecycle.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to balance risk, quality and performance.
  • The confidence to challenge, influence and make decisions.
  • A collaborative and people-focused leadership style.
  • A passion for developing others and creating inclusive project environments.

Why Wates?

At Wates, you'll join a business where people are trusted to make a difference. Your skills, potential and perspective could be exactly what we're looking for.

We offer:

  • Flexible and agile working opportunities.
  • Industry-leading family-friendly policies.
  • Competitive salary, bonus and car allowance.
  • Private medical cover and generous pension contributions.
  • Extensive learning and development opportunities.
  • Access to mentoring, leadership development and professional qualifications.
  • A genuinely inclusive culture where everyone can belong and succeed.

We're committed to building diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
