We are looking for a Senior Proposals Manager to play a key role in shaping how we win work across our Construction business. Based in Milton Keynes, you'll lead the development of high-quality, compelling bids and proposals that clearly articulate Wates' value, capability and commitment to our clients.

This is a senior, hands-on role that combines strategic thinking, leadership and excellent written communication.

What you'll be doing: 

  • Leading and managing the end-to-end bid and proposal process for complex, high-value opportunities.
  • Developing clear win strategies, storyboards and proposal plans aligned to client priorities.
  • Producing and assuring high-quality written content that is engaging, compliant and persuasive.
  • Collaborating closely with pre-construction, commercial, design and delivery teams.
  • Supporting and mentoring Bid/Proposals team members, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Managing multiple deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
  • Playing an active role in lessons learned, innovation and raising proposal standards across the business

What you will bring: 

  • Significant experience in a senior bids, proposals or work-winning role within construction or the built environment.
  • A strong track record of leading successful, complex bids.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and influencing at all levels.
  • A collaborative, organised and proactive approach.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with detailed delivery
