As part of the redevelopment of HMP Hindley, we are looking for an experienced Senior Site Manager to help lead the safe and successful delivery of this major project.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team on a flagship scheme that will play a vital role in modernising the UK's justice infrastructure.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you'll take ownership of key elements of the build programme, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards of quality.

You will lead site teams and specialist subcontractors, driving performance while fostering a positive, collaborative and inclusive culture across the project.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading day-to-day site operations on a major construction project.
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
• Managing subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and quality.
• Coordinating construction activities across multiple work fronts.
• Supporting programme delivery and identifying opportunities to mitigate risks.
• Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Mentoring and developing Site Managers, Engineers and emerging talent within the team.

About You

We're looking for a strong operational leader with experience delivering complex construction projects within a similar contracting environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of building regulations, construction methodologies and health and safety legislation.
• Experience managing multiple subcontract packages simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and programme delivery.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
• Experience within custodial, defence, healthcare, education or other highly regulated environments would be advantageous.
