At Wates, we're delivering some of the UK's most significant and complex construction projects. We're now looking for an experienced Senior Site Manager to join our team on the landmark HMP Hindley redevelopment project, helping to deliver modern custodial facilities that will have a lasting impact on communities and public infrastructure. 

This is an opportunity to play a key role on a major Ministry of Justice project, leading construction activities on site, driving programme performance, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

As Senior Site Manager, you'll take ownership of key sections of the project, providing strong leadership to site teams and supply chain partners.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading day-to-day site operations to ensure safe and efficient project delivery
• Managing subcontractors and direct labour teams
• Driving programme and productivity targets
• Championing health, safety and wellbeing across site
• Ensuring quality standards are achieved first time
• Coordinating activities across engineering, design, commercial and project management teams
• Maintaining strong relationships with the client and key stakeholders
• Supporting the development of junior managers and future talent on the project

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with experienced construction professionals who have:

• A proven track record delivering large-scale construction projects
• Experience as a Senior Site Manager, Site Manager or Project Manager within a similar environment. 
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent knowledge of health, safety and quality requirements
• Experience managing complex programmes and multiple work packages
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
• Experience working within secure environments, public sector projects or major infrastructure projects would be advantageous, although not essential
