Shift Engineer
Location: Leeds
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off – 12-hour shifts (8:00am–8:00pm)
Salary: Competitive
The Role
We are recruiting a Shift Engineer to join a key site in Leeds. This is a hands-on role working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, responsible for maintaining building services systems and ensuring the site operates safely, efficiently, and compliantly at all times.
You'll be part of an on-site engineering team delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
- Maintain and repair building services systems including HVAC and plant
- Undertake gas-related maintenance works in line with Gas Safe regulations
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency callouts during shift
- Identify faults, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions
- Complete all works in line with health & safety and compliance standards
- Accurately record works completed using site systems
- Liaise with subcontractors and site stakeholders where required
About You
- Proven experience working as a Shift Engineer or Building Services Engineer
- Gas Safe qualified (essential)
- Relevant engineering qualification (mechanical or electrical bias)
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working a 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shift pattern
- IPAF qualification desirable, but not essential
- Good understanding of H&S, compliance, and safe systems of work
- Reliable, professional, and able to work independently on shift
