Site Secretary

HMP Hindley, Wigan

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and proactive Site Secretary to join our team at HMP Hindley, one of the UK's most significant construction projects.

Working closely with the Project Leadership Team, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day administration of the site, ensuring efficient operations and providing excellent support to both internal teams and external stakeholders. This is a varied and fast-paced role where no two days are the same.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing administrative support to the project and site management teams.
  • Managing meeting schedules, diaries, visitor arrangements and meeting minutes.
  • Coordinating site inductions, training records and onboarding documentation.
  • Maintaining project records, filing systems and document control processes.
  • Raising purchase orders, processing invoices and supporting general project administration.
  • Supporting the preparation of reports, presentations and project communications.
  • Managing incoming calls, emails and correspondence.
  • Assisting with security clearance and workforce documentation where required.
  • Helping create a welcoming, professional and well-organised site environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in an administrative, secretary or coordinator role.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confidence managing multiple priorities in a busy environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working within a construction, engineering or project environment would be advantageous.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, customers and supply chain partners.
