At Wates Residential, our purpose is reimagining places for people to thrive. We don't just build homes, we create sustainable communities where people can live, work and thrive for generations to come.

We're looking for a passionate and experienced Social Value Manager to join our team, supporting developments across Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver meaningful social value initiatives that leave a lasting legacy in the communities where we work.

Working closely with project teams from pre-construction through to completion, you'll develop and deliver social value strategies that create positive outcomes for local people, businesses and communities, whilst supporting bids and helping secure future opportunities for the business.

The Role

As Social Value Manager, you'll steer the planning, delivery and measurement of social value activities across our residential developments, ensuring we continue to deliver on our purpose of reimagining places for people to thrive.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Developing, implementing and managing internal and external social value communications.
  • Creating project-specific Social Value Strategies, including employment and skills plans.
  • Building strong relationships with local authorities, community groups, schools, colleges and other key stakeholders.
  • Identifying and securing funding opportunities, grants and partnership initiatives that maximise community impact.
  • Advising bid and proposals teams on effective social value strategies based on customer and community insights.
  • Working with planning and project teams to identify social value opportunities from the earliest stages of development.
  • Collaborating with Communications and Marketing colleagues to showcase the positive impact our projects deliver across local communities.

What We're Looking For

You'll be an experienced Social Value professional who is passionate about creating opportunities, building strong community relationships and delivering meaningful outcomes.

You'll also bring:

  • Experience delivering social value, community engagement or stakeholder programmes within residential construction, development or the built environment.
  • Strong understanding of social value principles and the priorities of local authorities, customers and communities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to influence and engage a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong planning, organisational and project management skills.
  • A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
