This is an exciting entry-level opportunity to support the delivery of our sustainability ambitions while building a strong foundation for a career in environmental sustainability.  Working closely with operational teams, sustainability specialists and our supply chain, you'll help capture accurate information, follow up on outstanding data with care and persistence, and turn insight into meaningful reporting that supports business performance and continuous improvement.

 

What You'll Be Doing

As Sustainability Reporting Coordinator, you'll:

Coordinate the collection, validation and reporting of sustainability and environmental data across the business.
Support outward-facing engagement with our supply chain, helping to chase, capture and quality-check sustainability information in a professional and consistent way.
Support the production of internal and external sustainability reports, dashboards and performance updates.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency and compliance with reporting requirements and frameworks.
Work with project, operational and supply chain teams to gather evidence and monitor sustainability performance.
Maintain reporting systems, databases and documentation.
Support responses to customer, stakeholder and regulatory sustainability information requests.
Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and data quality.
Contribute to sustainability initiatives, programmes and business improvement projects.

Support the Wates Construction Sustainability Team to deliver internal training and engagement with Wates teams and members of our supply chain.


What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who combines strong analytical capability with excellent stakeholder management skills.

You'll ideally have:

Experience in sustainability, ESG, environmental reporting, business reporting or a data-focused coordination role.
Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Experience managing and interpreting large datasets.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with reporting systems.
The ability to produce clear, accurate reports and presentations.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.

We'd Love to See


Knowledge of sustainability, ESG or carbon reporting principles.
Experience working within construction, property, infrastructure or another project-based environment.
Familiarity with sustainability reporting standards, frameworks or performance measures.
