RESIDENT FABRIC ENGINEER

Wates have excellent opportunity for an experienced Resident Fabric Engineer to join the team based on-site at our client’s large Campus, in south Cambridge to deliver multi skilled services for Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive and minor life cycle works across our client’s site.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary focus of this role will be to conduct planned preventative, multi-disciplined maintenance and reactive works to the buildings fabric, plant, equipment, and systems, as well as respond to site engineering emergencies on behalf of our clients.

Having the relevant qualifications and experience for your discipline – City and Guilds in building fabric would be desirable but not essential, what is most important to us is your effective communication skills which always enable delivery of prominent levels of customer service. You will also be confident is your proven ability to effectively multi-task, work to tight deadlines and work in a team to problem solve on the job; whilst always promoting health & safety excellence.

Some of the other Key Accountabilities as Resident Fabric Engineer include:

• Use of a mobile device using the clients CAFM system, accepting jobs, ensure job SLA’S are not breached, sound updates on jobs for the client to view.

• Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks conducted to provide safe working practices through the mobile device.

• Supervise subcontractors effectively.

• Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures.

  • Door maintenance and repair (including Fire Doors, training can be provided)
  • Basic Plumbing repairs – desirable
  • Tiling patch repairs, wall, and floor
  • Temporary repairs to flooring carpets, lino, and screeds
  • Suspended ceiling repairs
  • Shelving, racking
  • Lock changes/repairs
  • External repairs i.e., patch brickwork
  • Decorating and decorating
  • Carpentry
