We have a fantastic opportunity for a Planner to join our Smartspace Fit Out Business in Warrington, as we enter a further phase of growth.

Wates Smartspace is a national business, delivering high-quality fit-out, refurbishment and property upkeep projects, enhancing its customers’ physical assets and operating environment.

Smartspace works for banks, retailers, property developers, pharmaceutical and distribution businesses, broadcasters, owners and occupiers of commercial offices and public sector organisations. Project values range from £20k to £25m. The business has established a strong reputation for delivering projects to tight timescales and in live environments, frequently working around business-critical equipment.

Key Accountabilities will include:


  • Assist in the planning process for pre- and post-contract work, delivering planning solutions across the Smartspace business
  • Adhere to business operating framework guidelines and company programming, planning and progress reporting best practice procedures
  • Ensure proper integration of design and procurement and instigate and monitor performance measurement criteria throughout the project lifecycle
  • Plan resource levels and work with the site team to procure the right supply chain
  • Keep records and maintain “as-built” programmes

To be successful in this role you will be a qualified Planner with solid experience gained ideally within Fit Out and Refurbishment. You will also have knowledge of commonly used forms of contracts as well as an awareness of a variety of performance measurement techniques, such as Critical Path Analysis, Earned Value Analysis and use of Key Performance Indicators.
