ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Senior SHE Advisors are a valuable part of our business, the focus of this role will be to provide professional SHE support, advice and coaching at regional business level. Engaging with Regional Managing Directors, Operations Directors and supply chain peers to ensure that the business SHE policy is promoted and effectively deployed. Providing leadership, support and development to SHE advisors in larger regions.

As our Senior SHE Advisor you will:

  • Conduct regular project visits and ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations, completing VMR after each visit.
  • Coach project leads and regional leadership on risk identification, mitigation, and investigation techniques.
  • Review project RAMS and plans regularly to ensure they are timely and fit for purpose, and support bid preparation and pre-construction information.
  • Develop and maintain a network within the regional supply chain to promote and ensure the understanding and deployment of Wates SHE policy.
  • Present SHE dashboards and detailed incident analyses at regional board meetings and communicate best practices and learnings to project leaders.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

You will be an excellent communicator with strong listening skills with the ability be proactive and work autonomously. You possess highly developed influencing skills, enabling you to influence up to the regional leadership level. Your coaching skills are exceptional, and you will have the ability to lead and develop a small team of SHE professionals. You can identify hazards and quantify risks effectively. With experience in SHE leadership within industrial or construction environments, you have a high-level knowledge of all relevant legislation regarding construction SHE. Your report writing skills are excellent, and you can analyse data and present it effectively to senior boards and forums. You will also hold qualifications in NEBOSH / CMIOSH.
