Senior Estimator

The Vacancy

We have an opportunity for a Senior Estimator to join our dynamic Wates Fit Out team. In this role, you will leverage your skills, experience, and knowledge to produce competitive tenders, working within a collaborative team environment to secure profitable projects.

Key Accountabilities include:

• Preparing accurate and competitive net estimates for fit-out projects, attending settlements and presentations to ensure the estimates align with client expectations.

• Developing subcontract and material packages, and ensuring all necessary information is abstracted efficiently.

• Analysing and vetting subcontractor tender returns to ensure compliance with project requirements and budget.

• Pricing elements from ‘first principles’ based on labour, plant, and material costs.

• Quantifying and cost planning build costs from limited information to support initial development appraisals and project feasibility.

• Maintaining a thorough understanding of project scope, contractual requirements, and site-specific conditions.

• Identifying opportunities to maximize project value and optimize costs throughout the lifecycle of the project.

We are looking for a qualified Senior Estimator with a proven track record in analytical estimating and cost planning, particularly within the fit-out sector. You will have experience working on high-value commercial fit-out projects and be comfortable with tight deadlines. An in-depth knowledge of complex fit-out projects, as well as experience in working on projects over £10M, is essential.

To be successful in the role, you will be self-motivated, with strong communication skills, able to work effectively as part of a team. A comprehensive understanding of construction methods, along with proficiency in estimating software and Excel, is crucial.
