About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data and Analytics Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our data strategy across the Wates Group. This is a senior-level, strategic position responsible for leading a technical team, understanding complex data requirements and driving the delivery of high-value advanced analytics solutions.

You will act as the voice of data across the business—aligning stakeholders, and analytics development teams around a shared vision of analytics excellence. From driving analytics projects, leading continuous improvement and user experience focused solutions, you will be instrumental in leading change and driving the adoption of new ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute a forward-thinking data and analytics vision that supports our business strategy.
  • Map current and future data capabilities and systems to identify integration opportunities and gaps.
  • Translate business needs into a robust, prioritised backlog of deliverables and guide development teams through agile delivery cycles.
  • Act as a key contact for Data and Analytics, representing best practices and ensuring data standards are met.
  • Monitor and continuously improve data quality and consistency across the organisation.
  • Design and implement interventions (communications, training, incentives) to embed new behaviours and data-driven practices.
  • Measure and report on data project performance and outcomes to stakeholders and leadership.

What We’re Looking For

Knowledge & Experience

  • Deep understanding of the role data plays in a large enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience in a senior data/analytics management role with strong strategic, operational, and stakeholder management exposure.
  • Familiarity with business processes and enterprise-wide systems, preferably within a corporate or construction-related environment.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and end-to-end data capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Degree-level education or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Desirable: Change Management qualification (e.g., APM Change Management, AIM).

Skills

  • Strong multitasking and prioritisation abilities in complex environments.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills using data.
  • Proficiency in data tools such as Power BI and Excel, with basic knowledge of DAX/SQL.
  • Capable of simplifying complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Confident in coaching, training, and influencing all levels of staff, including at Board level.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills with commercial acumen.
