📍 Location: Leeds (Static Client Site)

About the Role:

WPS are looking to recruit a Fabric Technician to join our team based at a client site in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, hands‑on individual with strong building fabric skills to work within a professional facilities management environment.

You will play a key role in maintaining the condition, safety, and presentation of the building, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance works across fabric and general building services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned and reactive fabric maintenance tasks across the site
  • Undertake general building repairs including:
    • Carpentry and joinery works
    • Basic plumbing (e.g. taps, toilets, sinks)
    • Painting, decorating, and patch repairs
    • Ceiling tile replacement and flooring repairs
    • Door, lock, and ironmongery maintenance
  • Carry out site inspections and identify fabric defects
  • Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with health & safety procedures
  • Accurately record works through CAFM systems or job sheets
  • Coordinate with specialist subcontractors when required
  • Maintain excellent customer service and client communication

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a Fabric Technician, Handyperson, or Building Maintenance role
  • Multi‑skilled background within building fabric trades
  • Good understanding of health & safety in a facilities environment
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

Desirable:

  • Trade qualification (e.g. Carpentry / Joinery, General Building, or Fabric Maintenance)
  • Fire door inspection or repair experience
  • Basic plumbing or mechanical knowledge
  • Experience working in a commercial or occupied site
