The Vacancy
Wates have terrific opportunity for a Senior Planer to join our team based out of our London and Warrington offices. As Senior Planner, you will provide an effective and professional planning and programming service for pre-contract and key projects across the country. Please note that this is a site and office-based role.
Wates Smartspace is a national business, delivering high-quality fit-out, refurbishment and property upkeep projects, enhancing its customers’ physical assets and operating environments. Working with a wide variety of long-standing customers, we have established a strong reputation for delivering projects to tight timescales and in live environments, frequently working around business-critical equipment.
ABOUT THE ROLE
To be successful in this role, you will have strong commercial acumen and a strong understanding of Planning processes from a construction fit-out perspective within a likeminded business. You will also have a knowledge of commonly used forms of construction contracts as well as an awareness of a variety of performance measurement techniques, such as Critical Path Analysis, Earned Value Analysis, and use of Key Performance Indicators. We use Asta Power Project, so a working knowledge is essential.
DUTIES
- Instigate and monitor a balanced suite of performance measurement criteria throughout a project’s lifecycle
- Creating construction schedules and methodologies for tenders to support the estimating team.
- Updating schedules based on site feedback, conducting critical path analysis, and providing accurate progress reports to stakeholders.
- Ensure proper integration of design and procurement elements of programmes with operations.
- Produce integrated tender programme and method statement and present proposals to settlement meetings.
- Change management: review programme effect of changes and advise on EOT issues.
- Produce schedules as well as obtain and analyse quotes for all time-related preliminaries.
- Identifying potential delays, bottlenecks, or constraints early and developing mitigation strategies to maintain targets.
