PROJECT MANAGER – SMARTSPACE
Wates are looking for a Project Manager to join our SmartSpace team, taking project leadership on a range of exciting new build education fit out and refurb projects. If you are Project Manager with proven technical skills looking for an opportunity to challenge the norm, bring fresh new ideas and elevate yourself within the industry, we would like to hear from you!
To be suited to this opportunity, you will ideally have previous education fit out experience, and a keen interest in working on school and higher education fit out projects. This role is working in partnership with the Department for Education, working on some of their interesting, high value projects across the country.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Project Managers are a valuable part of our business, the focus of this role will be to provide visible management, insight, project coordination and foresight in the safe and compliant delivery of schemes, while also providing excellent customer satisfaction and successfully mentor and guide a team.
This role will involve nationwide travel in line with ongoing and upcoming projects across the UK.
As our Project Manager you will:
- Developing project briefs, schedules, and budgets, managing work from, and ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
- Managing on-site teams, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring quality control of installations.
- Monitoring project budgets, tracking variations, managing costs, and approving progress claims.
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients, providing regular progress updates, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Regular feedback sessions with the client at the DfE, ensuring communication is clear, regular and critical project updates are given.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards (e.g., RAMS), conducting risk assessments, and maintaining a safe, compliant site.
- Managing site documentation, including RFIs, change orders, and snagging lists.
- Providing regular support, feedback and cover for your project director in their absence.
