The Vacancy

WPS are looking for for an experienced Project Manager to deliver large‑scale planned maintenance programmes across the West Midlands, supporting long‑standing social housing clients.

This role will suit an experienced Project Manager who is already operating at this level and is comfortable managing multiple workstreams across internal and external planned works.

Projects will include a multitude of works, such as:

  • Kitchen replacements
  • Bathroom replacements
  • Roofing works
  • Heating and M&E upgrades
  • Associated internal and external refurbishment works

You will take full ownership of your programmes, ensuring delivery is safe, compliant, on time and within budget, while maintaining strong client and resident relationships.


Key Responsibilities

  • End‑to‑end management of planned maintenance projects across occupied social housing stock
  • Leading site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners
  • Programming and monitoring works across multiple trades and workstreams
  • Ensuring compliance with H&S, quality and statutory requirements
  • Managing budgets, cost control and reporting against programme and P&L
  • Acting as the main point of contact for the client and internal stakeholders
  • Overseeing successful project handover and completion

About You

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager (essential)
  • Background in social housing planned works – internal and/or external
  • Experience managing multiple work types (kitchens, bathrooms, roofing, heating etc.)
  • Strong leadership, organisation and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in occupied properties and customer‑facing environments
  • Ideally from a Tier 1 contractor (or equivalent large‑scale contractor environment)
  • Strong understanding of planned maintenance processes and delivery models
