Continuing professional development (CPD)
We encourage our employees to actively engage in continuing professional development (CPD) to support lifelong learning and career growth. This includes attending industry conferences, taking part in one-on-one or team mentoring programmes, and joining internal workshops to boost skills and competencies. By embracing CPD, all our employees can keep developing their expertise, stay competitive in their fields, and help Wates to succeed.
Performance development review (PDR)
We set all of our employees annual objectives linked to their development and learning goals. Employees discuss progress against these with their manager. The aim is to identify areas for growth, and align your career aspirations with our organisational goals. As well as setting clear, actionable objectives, these reviews are a chance to receive valuable feedback and support.
Career development planning
We provide career development plans to help employees to map out their goals and development needs with us. These plans are designed to align your personal aspirations with Wates’ objectives, offering a structured approach to your professional growth and success.
Training needs analysis (TNA)
At Wates, we carry out an annual training needs analysis (TNA) to identify and address our evolving development needs of our organisation. This process involves collaborating across the business to pinpoint key skills and competencies for the coming year. By being proactive, we ensure our staff have the right skills and knowledge to excel and prepare for future challenges.
Virtual learning and development tools
